Welcome

Aldi, the award-winning food retailer, is bringing forward proposals for a new, high-quality food store at Philadelphia, as part of a wider regeneration masterplan for the area.

The Philadelphia Lane masterplan benefits from the grant of a hybrid planning permission, with full permission to refurbish some listed buildings on the Philadelphia complex and outline consent for housing, a food store, other retail facilities and the creation of an employment zone.

Aldi’s proposals will deliver the food store part of the outline consent.

Aldi is also aware that many customers in the local area travel further afield for their weekly shop, due to a lack of discount supermarket options nearby. Aldi’s plan to deliver a conveniently located discount food store would ensure access to low-cost, high-quality products is provided for existing and new communities in the northern part of the Coalfields area.

Our proposals are at an early stage, and we would like to hear the views of our customers and other residents in Philadelphia on our plans.
