Proposals for a new Aldi store for Amble

Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, is excited to announce plans for a new high-quality food store in Amble.

Planning permission was granted in 2019 for the development of Amble Retail Park, including a Morrisons store, petrol station and supporting retail and food and beverage uses. The proposed development seeks to alter the approved layout of the unbuilt retail units, with Aldi proposing to occupy one of these.

Aldi is preparing a planning application for submission to Northumberland County Council. We are keen to consult with the community ahead of submission so that we can hear your views first hand and take those into account as we finalise our proposals. We will report the outcome of this consultation in a Statement of Community Involvement submitted with the planning application.

Thank you for visiting our public consultation website. We look forward to hearing your feedback.

Improved choice for Amble

Aldi would like to improve access to our low-cost, high-quality products for residents in Amble.

The closest Aldi stores to the site are currently located more than 9 miles away in Alnwick and 13 miles away in Ashington. We know that residents in Amble travel to these stores to access our offer, and as a result these stores are increasingly busy and serve different catchment areas.

A new Aldi food store in this area would enhance the local retail offering and provide access to a discount retailer in the community for years to come.

Aldi is well known for selling a variety of high-quality products at the lowest prices. Our customers can make significant savings on their shopping without compromising on quality, with everyday items available at unbeatable prices.
