Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, has submitted a planning application to Knowsley Council to open a new, high-quality food store on land off Huyton Lane, Huyton (formerly the Huyton Cricket & Bowling Club). This planning application seeks full planning permission for the food store, as well as outline planning permission for residential units on the site.

Aldi believes there is a real need for a community store in the centre of Huyton to improve customer choice and competition locally and to better serve local residents. The proposed store will include 124 customer parking spaces, scenic landscaping around the site and improved access and egress off Huyton Lane.

Additionally, as part of the proposed development, the existing poorly-drained grass pitches will be replaced in the local area. We intend to fund the delivery of greenspace/sporting improvements to Jubillee Park, as well as providing a significant investment by improving the Huyton Lane roundabout, reducing queuing times by an average of 85%.
