Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, will be opening a new discount food store in Old Street. The new store would see the building at 205 Old Street transformed into a new Aldi serving the local community.
Our building contractors, Camford, will be starting work in mid-October to extend the former Post Office building into the space in front of the building to accommodate the new store. Building work will last approximately nine months, and we hope to open the new store in Spring 2022. The programme is broadly as follows:
- October to mid-November 2021 – site set up and strip out of the existing building
- Mid-November 2021 to early April 2022 – construction of the front extension
- Late January – early May 2022 – internal works to complete the building and fit out the new store
