Who is responsible for your personal data?
Aldi Stores Limited (“Aldi”) is the Controller for any personal data you provide as part of this consultation. This means Aldi determines how and why your personal data is processed.
Cavendish Consulting Limited manages consultation activities on Aldi’s behalf and acts as Aldi’s Processor. Cavendish only processes personal data in accordance with Aldi’s written instructions and for the purposes set out in this privacy notice.

Emails and representations to councils
As part of the planning process, you may be given the opportunity to indicate that you support Aldi’s proposals and wish your views to be shared with the relevant local planning authority.
Where you provide your consent, Aldi may use the information you provide to:
- Submit your comments to the relevant local planning authority in support of the planning application.
- Facilitate the sending of correspondence to the local planning authority which reflects the views you have expressed.
- Include your name, address and the comments you have provided within representations submitted to the local planning authority in connection with the planning application.
Your details will only be used for this purpose where you have expressly consented to this use of your information.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Request erasure of personal data in certain circumstances.
- Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.
- Request transfer of your personal data where applicable.
- Register a complaint with the Controller of your personal data.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
As Aldi is the Controller, all requests to exercise any of these rights should be directed to Aldi.

If Cavendish receives a data subject rights request relating to consultation data, it will forward the request to Aldi so that it can be dealt with by the Controller.
