Award-winning discount food retailer, Aldi, is bringing forward a planning application to extend our store on Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston to better meet the needs of the local community.

Our existing store on Bridgnorth Road is one of the smallest in the region at 850sqm. With over 20,000 local residents shopping here every week the store size no longer meets the needs of our customers.

Our recent revamp modernised the existing supermarket providing doors on the fridges and a more customer-focused layout enabling shoppers to find their favourite products easily. However, the store’s size still hampers our ability to properly accommodate the 1,000s of shoppers who walk through our doors each week.

We are proposing to increase the store’s size to 1,130sqm via an extension to the rear of the store. This will give shoppers an improved experience by delivering wider aisles, more tills and products, better accessibility, and importantly create additional jobs for local people – both in-store and during construction.

The extension will enable us to sufficiently manage the 1,000s of customers each week and help us serve the community long into the future.
