Bringing Aldi to Hedge End
Aldi knows its customers are travelling outside of the area to visit its award-winning stores. It’s delighted to have found a site for a new store which will reduce the need to travel and enhance the local shopping offer.
The plans include a store with a 1,315 sq m sales area, with ample parking, wide aisles and eye-catching product displays.
A new store would lead to the creation of more than 30 new jobs, and ensure the site remains in beneficial, economic use.
Unlike other supermarkets, Aldi is not a ‘one stop shop’. Our smaller stores focus on a limited range of great value, high quality food and convenience goods, and shoppers will often visit other neighbourhood shops and services to fulfil their shopping needs.
We are currently preparing a planning application for the new store and would welcome your feedback on these exciting proposals.
Proposals for the site include:
A new, modern, bright and spacious food store with a net sales area of 1,315m2
Free customer car parking spaces, including disabled and parent and child spaces
Sustainable travel measures, including bicycle parking spaces and electric vehicle charging points
Up to 30 full and part time permanent local jobs, paid at above the National Living Wage
Additional employment opportunities during the construction period and via the supply chain
Increased local food choice, reducing the need to travel further afield
Aldi leads the way on supporting British farmers, sourcing 100% of its fresh meat and poultry from British, Red Tractor approved farms and 40% of its fresh fruit and vegetables from British suppliers.
