The site would deliver a new Aldi food store with a net sales area of 1,315m², alongside 117 car parking spaces, including 2 electric vehicle charging points, with the provision of a further 22 bays for future use.
Aldi’s proposals for Matlock include:

- An innovative Aldi delivery ramp, mitigating the noise impact of deliveries.
- Free car parking at the Aldi store for up to 90 minutes.
- A mix of tree retention and new planting incorporated around the site to mitigate the store’s visual impact.
- An environmentally friendly store, with solar panels, heat pumps, LED lighting and more energy efficient fridge doors.
