Proposals

Elmore AFC Relocation (Uplowman Road)
Central to this proposal is the relocation of Elmore AFC, which is currently based at the Heathcoat Way site, to new facilities at Uplowman Road, north of the A361. This would give the club the space it needs for new, high quality training facilities and pitches.

These proposals will deliver:

  • 5 new football pitches including 2 full size, floodlit pitches (one to be converted to 3G), 2 5-a-side pitches, and 1 9-a-side pitch, alongside 2 changing rooms and 2 covered stands.
  • New clubhouse and community hub along with car parking and access arrangements.

Heathcoat Way
Only once the new facilities and relocation of Elmore AFC are complete can Aldi commence work on delivering a new food store and coffee drive-thru. In addition, the existing clubhouse, which is used by several community groups, will be retained and refurbished as part of these proposals. This element of the proposals includes:

  • A new high-quality, discount Aldi food store with a sales area of 1,315 sqm. Refurbishment of the existing Elmore AFC clubhouse for continued use by the local community.
  • 125 customer parking spaces at the new food store, including 7 designated blue badge spaces, and 12 parent and child parking spaces.
  • 27 additional parking spaces at the refurbished clubhouse, including 1 blue badge space.
  • 4 electric vehicle charging points, with provision for an additional 12, subject to additional demand.
  • A new coffee drive-thru with provision for 24 parking spaces, including 2 electric vehicle charging points.
  • Up to 50 new jobs, paid above the National Living Wage, as well as employment opportunities during construction and through the supply chain.
  • A new store in a convenient location, which would reduce the need for customers to travel to stores further afield and be able to shop more locally.
