Welcome

Award-winning discount food retailer Aldi, is bringing forward a planning application to develop land on West Road, Bourne with a new high-quality discount food store.

Aldi has long wanted to expand its offer of amazing value and choice to the residents of Bourne, and this site on West Road presents an ideal location.

Our proposals would provide a bespoke and respectful Aldi food store at the edge of Bourne that sits in harmony with its surroundings.

By providing real affordable choice, a new Aldi food store in Bourne would help ease the impact of the current cost-of-living crisis. The new store would provide customers with better-value products to help make their money go further.

Many residents of Bourne already travel to our existing stores in Stamford and Spalding to reach Aldi’s high-quality, low-cost offering. The introduction of a new Aldi food store in Bourne would improve the immediate local retail offering, creating more competition and improving choice for the local community.

If approved, our plans would represent a significant economic investment into Bourne, creating 40 full-time jobs in-store, as well as further employment through construction and the supply chain.

Community consultation

Aldi is committed to meaningful community engagement regarding its proposals for new stores. As such, we are hosting a community consultation to gather feedback from local people in Bourne.

The community consultation will commence on Tuesday 14 February and close at midnight on Tuesday 28 February 2023.

A virtual public exhibition will be available on this website between these dates.

We will also host an in-person event at 1 Hub, Queens Road, Bourne, PE10 9DX, between 3pm and 7pm on 23 February. We would be pleased for people to come along and learn more about the plans in person, where they can ask questions directly to the project team.

Following the community consultation, Aldi is looking to submit its planning application to South Kesteven District Council in the coming months.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on the proposals. To view our plans, visit ‘Virtual Exhibition’ and complete our online feedback form.
